A journey to the throne of Zeus (God of Gods)

The Throne of Zeus is on the Mount Olympus which is located in Greece and i have the privilege to live 30km from there,  so many times every year we are visiting the mountain, every time we go it's somethind different! The season, the nature, the weather everything and it's magical, many of you might know the mountain, to those who are not let me tell you about it and it's history!


Zeus was the father of the Gods and the people in Greek Mythology, father of the Sky and the thunder. he was the son of Cronus and Rea he was married to Ira but he  had many childrens with other wives, among them was the famous semi-god Hercules, Perseus, Great Helen some Greek Gods like Ηermes, Apollo and Athens, many movies were made about them and Greek Mythology so you might know them

Let's talk about the mountain! it is 11 hours of hicking and climping, the way to the top is amazing! you see many and woderfull things, on the bottom you see Shepperds small villages and some Greek culture

 

As you go up you leave your car at a place cold Prionia and you start walkin! 11 more hours to the top! from there it's magical! you might see bears, or some wildlife, the old Monastery of Saint Dionysos which was attacked by the Germans at the WW2,  

 the small rivers and waterfall, you can go for swim at summer time but the water is realy cold!


 

As you go higher it get more and more difficult! some rocks, snow wind and cold! but it worths everything and there are some refuge capxs to spend the night!with greek traditional food, you can a spend a night there and start early morning to the house of the Gods and mountain peaks!

The mountain stops at 2918 meters and next time i ll get there i will write on the book that a Steemer was here! 

if someone wants top reach the mountain i will attend and show him/her the way up!
