Some more water drop photos and some technical updates.[Original Photography]steemCreated with Sketch.

Hey peeps.

So another session with the water drip kit. This time I tried a new liquid. This is water mixed with something called "Tylo" which is used by cake makers to make edible glue. It effectively thickens up the water a bit. I actually think i did it too thick though :(. I also added some milk to increase opacity and then added food colouring. I did some drops with just a purple colour into water and then some with purple into orange. Turned out OK. The first two look like glass. I think the first one might be a relative of @carlgnash.

For the combination of purple and orange, the liquids were way too thick and i couldn't produce double drops easily. Turns out that you only need the tinyest amount of Tylo, not half a teaspoon.

Here's a quick look at the colours in their original form :)

Also made some technical changes and replaced the LCD screen, buttons and pretty much everything with a phone app. This is created with an app called "Blynk" which enables connectivity to many IOT devices, one of which includes the Arduino. It's a load easier to control than with the LCD and will enable me to have a final product that is way more compact than the prototype.

Stunning pictures Mark! You're right, they are very alien looking.

Um... wow. These are just amazing. :)

What a cool experiment! I really like the pictures, especially the hungry alien snail in the first one. I don't exactly understand what the water dropper is doing?

Hey,

There are a few posts back in my blog history. I built something that drips water and then automatically opens a camera shutter and fires the flash at the precise time. There's some really technical details in those posts if you are so inclined.

These are sooo cool!! Love #3, reminds me of a lava lamp 😎

Awesome job Mark, these are really fun.

Incredible, Mark !!! These photos are really gorgeous and you're getting better and better with them <3 They've been an absolute treat <3

You know what, you're so amazing with your creativity. Very sad because I'm can't make photos like this at all.
