Painted jezebel butterfly
Among the dense, silent green foliage, I found a painted jezebel butterfly perched gracefully on a marigold petal. I slowly approached the plant where it had landed. I saw it meticulously examining each petal. It seemed to be preparing for a delicious breakfast this morning.
Its wings were tightly closed, displaying a beautiful array of colors. White, black, yellow, and orange blended beautifully on its body. The combination of colors was so beautiful that anyone who glanced at it would be mesmerized by its beauty. These colors weren't just meant to beautify its wings or to attract attention. Rather, they were traces of its life journey.
As we know, to become admired by many, butterflies must go through several challenging stages in their lives. They begin as eggs, often attacked by ants. They become caterpillars, often considered disgusting. Then they must survive in a narrow, dark space called a cocoon. After these three stages, they are born a new version, with wings. But it can't fly straight away, it's still weak and needs sunlight to warm its body.
