True artistic talent show through regardless of the tools used. Better tools are just that, better tools.

Many years ago, I had a girlfriend that had put herself through photography school, had her Hasselblad and Mamiya, every lens under the sun, and a complete lighting kit with all the bells and whistles. We even had a darkroom in our basement. With all that equipment, the one piece of kit that she would never leave home without was a disposable point and shoot. She said it kept her aware of the basics of photography like lighting and composition. It kept her eye in shape as she would put it. She would pull off some amazing shots with those things.

Thanks for the reminder that it's the person and not just the equipment, that makes a photographer.
