Original Photography: Strange Festival

in #photography7 years ago (edited)

This weekend I shot this new media / performance art / music festival called Click Festival in Elsinore, Denmark. It is the 6th recurring year, and Ive been there every year. Anyway, I thought you might enjoy this live shot from the event. Shot with Sony a7r II and Canon EF 70-200mm 2.8 L IS II. Reminds me a bit of the film Naked Lunch. Performance by Aïsha Devi (CH) feat. Asian Dope Boys (CI).

As always, follow me @photomathias for more like this :-)

This is going to DPS @photomathias. Tell me please what adapter do you use for this combination, and how does focus speed compares to a 70-200mm 2.8 L IS II on a native Canon body?

Thanks again, @photo-trail! I love your questions. I use the expensive Metabones mk IV adapter. It does the job quite well with the 70-200, but it is not native Canon speeds, also the Sony does not necessarily focus fully open like a DSLR, so it does not do as well in low light. Some annoying hunting will keep you from getting the shot. My solution is to increasingly use manual focus, as this is easier on the Sony with its EVF. I can't afford Sony glass just yet, as Im invested in Canon.

Thank you for your detailed answer @photomathias.

I went to Elsinore this time last year when they were celebrating the 400th anniversary of Shakespeare's death - the Danes see Hamlet as their play seeing as it is set in Elsinore castle. Glad you are enjoying the festival...

True about Hamlet. 'There is something rotten in the state of Denmark'. Great play - always wondered who this Shakespeare person is who knew so much about the world.

And all those years ago. How did he know so much?
