Mountains, Clouds, and Telescopes
I attended a stargazing meetup at Moraine Park in Rocky Mountain National Park in July 2013.
Long's Peak dominates the view.
These folks are setting up their scopes. Everyone was very gracious about letting strangers gaze through the eyepieces.
Some of these telescopes were handmade.
Later, clouds were rolled in. The astronomers were unperturbed.
Light from the Colorado sunset brushed the clouds.

That's some beautiful scenery! Especially the first photo, the mountain in the back looks like something straight out from the Hobbit or something :D
I'm glad you liked them! Rocky Mountain NP is magical, especially at sunset. It's hard to take a bad picture there.

Thanks! There is very little light pollution up there. I started talking to some in the group who had made their own telescopes and I just put my camera away. The clouds blew out and it was a nice night of stargazing. I don't have the gear or the knowledge to take night pictures.
