Gyeongju Scenes (South Korea Photo Story)

Yesterday, I visited Gyeongju, South Korea, which is one of my absolute favorite places in the country. The ancient capital of the Silla Dynasty, the city is basically an open-air museum filled with historical architecture, royal tombs, and other wonderful traces of Korean history. It is a popular tourist attraction and draws crowds, especially during weekends and holidays. Of course, I brought my camera along and photographed the various scenes that I saw. Here are some of my favorite images from yesterday's trip.

Tourists line up for their turn to get a photo among the pink muhly grass in Gyeongju, South Korea. They say it's the must-see attraction in Cheomseongdae Park for 2017.

A Korean love story, Woljeong Bridge. It has become increasingly popular for young people to don Hanbok, the Korean traditional attire, and visit historical attractions all over the country.

Electric vehicles have become increasingly popular at Gyeongju's attractions. While many delicate historical areas of the park are still off limits to scooters and bikes, more and more of these vehicles now share the sidewalks and pathways with pedestrians. I particularly liked the matching curves of the scooter's umbrella and the pop of color against the royal tomb in the background.
