Crocodiles caught in eastern aceh
Conducting inspection and measurement of estuarine crocodiles arrested by residents in East Aceh. This female crocodile has a weight of 600 kg and a length of 4.80 meters.
It is a crocodile estuary, 4.80 meters long, 60 cm wide, and weighs not 1 ton, but 600 kg, said Head of BKSDA Aceh, Sapto Aji Prabowo, when contacted by AFP by phone on Wednesday (14/2/2018).
Sapto explained the estuary crocodile is fairly old. Age is estimated to be 70 years.
His teeth have partially fallen out, he said.
Added Sapto, until this morning the estuary crocodile has not been evacuated by BKSDA Aceh. Officers are still on site doing handling. She made sure the crocodile was in good health.
We also provide education to the residents how to maintain the safety of crocodiles, the right way of handling, not like yesterday ditali-rope, he said.
Residents caught this estuary crocodile in the Kwala Malehan region, the Arakundo River channel, using a net on Tuesday (13/2). Residents are restless because this crocodile appears several times so feared there will be people who fall prey.
Residents who came to see and capture this captured crocodile with a camera phone. At that time the crocodile is estimated to have a length of 5 meters with a weight of about 1 ton.
