How I got the shot #9

How I got the shot #9

Sooner or later I'm going to run out of these (something tells me it might be sooner as I've just had a look and yes - I'm definitely running out!) The problem isn't getting in the weird positions, I do that every time! The problem is getting a photo of me in the weird position! Usually my wife, the wonderful @vtravels will grab a quick snap, but she's often a little busy herself, after all - we're both there to photograph the couple! We'll make a real effort this wedding season to remember Steemit when we shoot ;-)!

After the other images I've shared, where I was lying down in the rain, mud, dirt and every other 'not-so-nice' thing you can imagine, this one is pretty much a luxury scenario. Lying down on a warm cobbled road in the stunning Ibiza old town wasn't exactly too much of a hassle but - as is always the case - it definitely put a smile on our couples face as they turned to walk towards us and saw me lying prone on the floor!

And that's the best thing about this kind of shot, just give it a try sometime. Ask a couple to walk away from you and, after 20-30 feet turn around and walk back. When they see you on the floor I guarantee they at least crack a smile!

As always, all photos are my own and copyright Sansom Photography

Another great post! Not exactly the worst place in the world to be shooting wedding photos! ;-)

What do you do or say to the couple to make sure they are interacting well? I'm always curious to what other photographers do. Myself, I use the classic "tell her your favourite vegetable in a sexy voice" or repeat the rediculous phrase "big red rhubarb" over and over. They work to some degree but I'm always looking to learn more secrets from pros like you two!

Thanks! Haha not at all!

Honestly I don't say a whole lot, just gentle encouragement when needed! Most of the time I just let them relax and be themselves!

I shall give it a try in future... :)

Splendid picture displaying the world of ecstasy and intense joy. Great composition and angle
.. congrats my friend

Thank you very much :)

Oh wait... Verity is your wife? OMG I never made that connection... okay, alright, I'm on it now.

Hahaha, when you make it back to Portland, I promise to hang out with you and take photos of you both in super weird photog positions.... and I'll do it with a Canon 6D or so help me.

Haha yep! Her account is more travel focused, she's not into the tech as much as me!
