Kolomensky Bridge
Kolomensky Bridge is thrown across the Griboyedov Canal not far from the place where the Griboyedov Canal flows into the Fontanka River. This bridge has an interesting story. In this place the device of the bridge was not planned. But in 1907 the neighboring Malo-Kalinkin Bridge was closed for repairs. There was a need for a temporary bridge device. To solve the problem, a small wooden pedestrian bridge was built. The repair of the main bridge was soon completed, but the temporary bridge became popular and was preserved. Kolomensky Bridge remained wooden until the end of the 1960s. In 1967 aluminum designs replaced wood. It is the first and only all-welded aluminum bridge in Russia.
