That's a great idea, I've thought of that earlier too. But the place I'm in may not be ideal for astros since it's in the middle of the city. Maybe around the 2nd week of May, we're set to go to the province, there's no light pollution there at all since that's in the mountains. The only problem will be if it's cloudy or not.

I bet the fast aperture will be much better than the kit lens I had which had the fastest aperture of 2.8. I'll try this out for night photography too when I get the chance.

My next target would be a Samyang 12mm 1.2 (Or sometimes called Rokinon), which will be a great cheap lens for astro and landscapes. But before that, I'll need to buy a flash and trigger combo (may cost around 120usd/6000php).

I've heard good things about the Samyang lenses, many people swear by them :)
