Lion's Tooth-Original work

Who knew that a dead dandelion was more beautiful than a live one? The intricacy of detail and need to blow the seeds off the stem to watch them fly high in the sky is taunting. The dandelion is originated from the French word "dent de lion," meaning lion's tooth for its rough yellow rigid looking petals.

I took this photo of this dead dandelion because I was captured by its beauty and daintiness. The dandelion is classified as part of the Daisy family... which is quite interesting to me! I was able to get a close up shot. I am happy I did because I could stare at the detail of this plant forever :) I highly recommend clicking the photo to enlarge it and really see all the details.
