Hi @kieranstone, originally that all have been warehouses. The area is called the Hamburger Speicherstadt (warehouse district) and is awarded as a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

Nowadays there is a mix of offices, restaurants, shops, schools, museums and flats inside.
