The Sky's Afire - End of the World, or the End of the Day?
You might think I'd be sick of looking out the window by now.
I've been riding this train for a month. But man, there is a lot to see.
It's perfect for daydreaming. And regular dreaming, too. Lately I've been catching naps on the return trip. And today I woke up just in time to see the sunset. This is the most sun I've seen in several days! Can you blame me for taking pictures?
This is an unedited photo. Turns out the grimy train windows act as a starburst filter.
Missile attack? Meteor strike? Alien invasion?
This part of New England is very well known for its bogs. Most of the world's cranberries come from this region.

Reflecting light from inside the train. OK, I played with color balance on this one a bit. Feels like I'm on a carnival ride.

Even dirt-piles and mud look glamorous under the right lighting.
In other news...
The wife's car is fixed. The new phone is working. The power didn't go out with this latest storm. I dare say things may be turning a corner.

I bought the Honor 7X. I'm pretty happy with it so far. I got an unlocked version from Amazon and put in a pre-paid sim card - didn't want to get roped into a service plan.

Ah man, every time I see a post like this I have this hankering to move up to snowy northern climes... Although not seeing the sun for days on end is a bit intense... Perhaps I could be a swallow 😬 Nice shots.
The weird thing is, we're not even that far north. England is much farther" up" than we are. But we get the raw end of the oceanic currents. At least in the winter our days aren't that short - we still get six hours of sunlight.
If you ever want to life swap in the winter, though, I'm up for it. I'll do a bit of field biology and you can sell some cigars. I think it could work out okay.
Love it. Nice catch. More mystical then end of days to me though. Like it is an alien come down and just hovering as a ball of energy or something.
Oh yeah - like that ball of energy that floated into the Enterprise and got Diana Troi pregnant in Star Trek. Maybe it'll float into the train and give me a pregmancy.

Spring is coming, summer soon to follow, soon you'll be scribing of sweaty commuters and lost tourists. Looks like your phone takes pretty good shots, I find if I'm to tired or frustrated to type on the phone, pictures being worth a thousand words makes blogging easier. Good luck with the pregnancy
Thanks but it's a pregMANcy. The gestation is much the same but there are some complications with the delivery. Forgive me for mansplaining.
With my time constraints I've found I've got to streamline my process a whole lot. But I'm glad that people are enjoying my quick photographic posts. And with working data, I feel like I'm part of the world again.
