Striped albatross butterfly

in #photography18 days ago

Under the shade of broad, shady green leaves, I spotted a striped albatross butterfly perched on a flower stalk. It seemed to be searching for a drop of nectar to fill its empty stomach. Its wings were fully open, flapping ever so slowly. I approached cautiously. It was the perfect model for the day, so I didn't want it to leave before I finished the photo session.
This striped albatross butterfly has four contrasting color combinations. Its base wing color is pure white, adorned with unique black patterns on the edges. Its back is bluish-gray, and therein lies a hint of yellow at the base of the lower hind wings. At first glance, this butterfly looks ordinary because its colors aren't particularly striking. But therein lies its often-overlooked beauty: simple yet captivating
