Hiking in West Michigan: Late Winter

Here is one of my favorite photos from hiking last winter and it is of one of my favorite places to hike:

In this area, there are natural Springs everywhere that feeds into the creek. When temperatures get too hot this is where I go! Plenty of shade and with the cold water feeding into the creek the entire area is 10+ degrees less than anywhere else.

The creek has springs that feed underneath the top soil, and this photo is the result of those springs along with the freeze/thaw of late winter/early spring!
