COMIC....
Like tonight. I saw some old acquittances at a meeting that I hadn't seen in a while. It was a shock actually. They had aged so much. Not just the body but their life-force. Seemed to me that they were living in fear. Maybe fear of death or becoming disabled by age. They could not smile but just stared blankly ahead.
I tried to engage them in some friendly talk but all I got back was an icy, glaring, snarly look of distaste. Did I have dog poop on my shoes? Maybe someone did die?
I tried a few times to break through to some sort of loving exchange but nope, each time the ice formed. It actually became humorous.
Finally, I challenged, in a loving playful way, "Why are you ignoring me? You're talking to everyone else. (Albeit in a cold distant way) But ignoring me."
"I'm not ignoring you. I greeted you." (stiff cold response)
"When? What did you say?" (smiling and playful)
"I don't remember what I said." looking bewildered
They managed to escape to another part of the room.
I was not going to get any warmth. It was solid ice.
But I found it very, very funny.
Like a cartoon.

As I am at my table eating, two people go by and one sits alone, eerie smirk on his face. Talking to himself now, very strange.
