RE: A Morning Rant: @haejin isn't Doing Anything Most of You Wouldn't Do
I'm here because I'm a delusional, utopian, voluntarist, libertarian, etc. I have no other social media accounts, unless you count crypto telegram/discord and youtube.
I have no desire to be a blogger, but I do enjoy reading new and entertaining information without being spammed with ads. That's why I'm here. No ads and supporting anarchy and destruction of oligopolies.
I have never voted for myself, and I can't even imagine why that feature is exists. The argument that being a shitbag is acceptable because it's within the rules doesn't sit well with me either. The other related argument I get to hear all the time when people are excusing themselves from shitty behavior is along the lines of 'if it wasn't me(doing the scummy thing), it would be somebody else.' Why/how do people think like this?
I will probably always be poor and live like a college student, but I can live with that. It's disappointing that people think the way they do, but I'm glad I'm not like that. It seems like an exhausting enterprise, trying to rationalize being a turd.
I have respect for people who respect and see value in others and community. I can't respect people who value money over people. It makes no sense to me. You can't buy immortality. @haejin likely isn't in some desperate need for money to cover living expenses. What is it for?
The only thing I can think of is it being to fill a hollowness in life. I can identify with that, but I can't defend purely mining/extracting money at all cost as a practice to fill it.
I'm sure it seems like I'm someone who just doesn't get it. I mean, finding something to do with your life is hard. Focusing on getting money is easy, even if getting the money isn't as easy. But there are other things to do.
Unfortunately, money gets the front page news and always seems to worm its way into the picture even if it's not the focal point. Frankly it's sickening, but it doesn't have to be that way. Once you have your basics covered, you can be/do what you want. You can be a selfish prick always extracting value or you can go where you can add value. You end up dead either way. I can't see someone looking back on their life saying, 'boy, I'm glad I was able to mine all those steem from those fucking plebes. Time well spent.'
Suit yourself. I think money's pretty rad. Not having to work and shit.
