The Last Day

Today is the last day of the world as you know it.
Tomorrow, a new world dawns.

Whether the hopes of the few,
or the fears of the many,
come to fruition
I shall hold out my hand
to help those who have been beaten
by the billy club of authoritarianism
or the fists of prejudice.

Do not mistake my charity for weakness.

The power you abuse,
The innocence you corrupt,
The injury you wreak,
The cancerous hatred you spread
Will be met with rabid violence
fed by righteous vengeance.

My present smile is nothing more
Then the still eye of a future tempest
And a contract for mutually assured destruction.

I, no...
We will not repeat my missteps
and slide further backward into falsehoods.

All I have is yours
lest I am forced,
Through injustice
or deception,
To become your tyrannical teacher.
