The Suffering Soul

in #poetry3 years ago

My soul is pure, my flesh is sin.
It's the dilemma You put me in!

To save my soul, I must repent.
Although my soul is heaven sent!

My soul is trapped inside of me!
My body its prison! It's not free!

To set it free, my body must die.
Not ready for that! I just can't lie!

Into my flesh You breathed desire.
Named it sin. What terrible ire!

This paradox?! I'm truly awed.
Your creation seems seriously flawed!

If I do nothing, my soul burns.
Whatever I do, my flesh returns,

to mother nature, where it belongs.
One soul must suffer for all my wrongs.
