I joined steemit in January and before then I had maybe written 2 poems in my life. I left school at 14 with pretty much no education and I don't have any knowledge about poetry. Since joining steemit I have written quite a few poems. It just seems to come from within somewhere - I don't really understand it lol. I really am enjoying writing them. I guess the point of my comment is that maybe you're right - there is a poet inside everyone :)
I think poetry is growing in popularity on the platform. I've really enjoyed working with all the poets who've joined The Writers' Block.
