Me and I

Me and I could never see eye to eye,
always in conflict always in turmoil,
always restless always in a broil.

I ask, "who are you... me" ?
Me, "was trying to lose you... I"

Saw shades of me in I
and colors of I in me,
but never held on to,
neither me nor I.

Now I stand without me,
looking for a hold.
Who was I looking for,
searching for gold.

Some one passes by
and I follow the scent.
Now me is lonely without the I,
cos' me was the destroyer of the I,
for me and I could never see eye to eye.
