Poetry should speak for itself ...

If I should tap my veins -- for lack of ink --
and take great pains to put down what I think,
would I subsequently find I've less to say
and opt for some less extravagant way
or, under a stroke of genius that day,
would I -- for lack of paper -- flood the sink?
