AN ITALIAN SONNET

Earlier today, i was teaching a group of high school students the difference between a Shakespearean Sonnet and an Italian Sonnet. As is always the case with smart students, one of them asked me to write an Italian Sonnet to drive home my point and this is what i ended up with...
She asked me,
"Why do you die anew
For she who cannot live for you?"
But, what i feel, She cannot see
For how can i live
And make merry with wine
Knowing that you are not mine?
That is no way to live.
.
She said, "Some broken hearts never mend
So You better leave while you still can"
And i said, "Mine is no break but a bend
So loving you, i will always 'can'
For the streams of my love is without end
Just like the limitless stretching of the land.
