A spring shade

original poetry

If a shade with me stays
Into the blinding light of noon
A vigorous ghost it must be,
Mingling with the frosted air which
Still remains under the apple tree's boughs.

I am creasing the grasses into clean folds
So the dandelions can enjoy their thrones.

I am contemplating the trees still skeletal;
my mind becomes a blanket for their new leaves.

Does the shade still remain
Somewhere in the corners,
Perhaps keeping spring onions company?
Or has it flown into the grey-orange sky
Awaiting the indigo cape of night?

oh...lovely!
spring has just come to my city at last, and your poem today is just in time-)

Indigo night is a magic comparison!

Spring is only now sinking in here, too. Glad you liked that metaphor @taliakerch. Enjoy the springtime!

Warm words and tidings of spring to keep me warm as winter lingers. Nothing but skeletal trees here and the first one who complains of the heat in the summer is gonna get a punch in the throat. ;)

Great photos to go with nicely woven poetry as well.

Hahaha @zekepickleman, I laughed about the punch in the throat, I was born n' raised in Dallas, TX where it gets 100 Fahrenheit almost every day in the midsummer. But the heat can be quite nice, you won't hear me complain! I live in the mountains of NC now so it's a bit nippier. Didn't you say you are somewhere quite cold?

Winter does sure take its time leaving, doesn't it?

I have spent time in Dallas and Houston and didn't mind going down there for business trips. Up in Canadia, they find it funny that our patio season starts right when a Texan's ends because it is too damn hot to be outside.

Mountains of NC sound pretty damn good right about now!

Example....this was a couple days ago doing some work.

Now I love winter.....as long as it leaves before sailing season!

Such a pleasing poem. With simplicity too you can touch hearts. This was pretty calming to the mind. I loved it. :)

Thanks much @abhinavmendhe. Things needn't always be overly complicated! Glad you enjoyed this one. Hope you have a great day.

You are right. You're welcome. Thanks for acknowledging my comment. :)

Shade will always remain and be there, as reflection of ying-yang, ego-super ego, mind- soul, spring-winter.

Both needs to be there for life to happen.
Namaste.

Exactly, it is the dynamic pulsebeat of the cosmos. Thank you @mandalaflower :-D Namaste.

Spring has sprung but sudden cold snap in Korea @d-pend.
Great question:

Does the shade still remain...

It is here for a moment just long enough to recognize it and then it is gone.

Sudden cold snap here, too @mineopoly. Thanks for your comment. Indeed it can be elusive!

What a beautiful tale of spring's slow advent! Your poetry always delights me with the imagery!

Or has it flown into the grey-orange sky
Awaiting the indigo cape of night?

"Slow advent" expresses it perfectly! Thank you for the kind words @wandrnrose7 :-)

It's always my pleasure, my friend.

Spring is still residing at my place and yes the shadow of the thick plants is getting thick day by day just to welcome the beauty of the Summer ;)

Does the shade still remain
Somewhere in the corners,
Perhaps keeping spring onions company?
Or has it flown into the grey-orange sky
Awaiting the indigo cape of night?

Thanks Man for sharing some lovely pictures of the flowers :)

Stay Blessed The Great Poet @d-pend :)

Haha, lucky you, at my place, winter is still lingering! Maybe it is tropical where you live @salmanbkhari54? Thank you for all your encouraging comments!

Wow! This imagery. This imagery is real talent!
Lets grow together man.

Hey, thanks so much @niiashaley. We win together!

They are very warm words that welcome spring. I really like the images that accompany your words. Good contribution!..

Another magical and beautiful poem written from the heart :)
