Moral Decadence

in #poetry7 years ago (edited)

If as at today that good still begat good, The outcome is only being fair, Then what happens tomorrow when good starts to beget evil?
The obvious answer to this brings me nothing but fear.

"Children are the future of tomorrow" So did they say, But if these were to be so,

Then is this future not prone to bringing much more sorrow than the world has ever known?

For children now lack respect for elders who aren't their own, Claiming that they don't deserve it, By demanding it when they ought to be earning it.
And I wonder if this is my very same home.
For all that is displayed in the picture of these future, can't but make me ponder on what has happened to our dear cultures and traditions.

All horridly sold out by auction?

That children no longer function like the very children they are, But now malfunction
like some bad science students who have mixed up chemicals without precaution are meant to certainly face the repercussion.
Now like staphylococcus, They are loosing it, Murdering every Moral and yet feeling no guilt like it's normal. Societal norms daily heading towards extinction and the abominable; chosen as norms.

Isn't it glaring that something is wrong?

So no matter how long, Let us keep training their tongues, For it can never be overemphasised, That with one voice should we be singing Moral Uprightness as both the lyrics and rhythm of our song.
