The Circle of Life - Day 25
Roots weaving through the earth medium
Giving shelter and sustenance to rhyzomian life
Who gratefully mine precious minerals
From pressed down, compacted, solidified earth
And return the favor
Bare branches criss-crossing reaching
Through the air distance that separates them
Touching, caressing each other
As the wind dances around them
And treetops sway to the rhythm
Celebrating their communion
Hands reaching for the sweetest plumpest fruit
To taste the bounty of symbiotic cooperation
Fueling a lifespan of synergistic energy and love
Bare arms criss-crossing reaching
Through the air distance that separates them
Caressing, penetrating, implanting new life
To continue the eternal cycle
As one day they give their body back to earth
And return the favor

Cool poem! I love the way the imagery draws out some of the context in your words. I believe that tree on the top is called "Samauma," a.k.a. "kapok." It is the largest tree in the Amazon, with a lifespan upwards of 2000 years. Colossal and majestic tree. I've heard certain members of this tree family have pockets where 7 people can sit inside, in Mother Nature's womb. And I've been told that the longest branch on these trees points to another Samauma tree.
Poem that tells us about the wheel of life. Good job, friend @firststeps.
Congratulations on making it a quarter of the way through the challenge. I'm having a great time reading your poetry.
My goodness, I loved this one!
The circle of life begins in the refuge of nature.
