WHAT IS IT THAT THEY CALL POETRY?
Some few random lines
that incidentally turn to music;
few phrases tagged as metaphors
or peachy imagery of the ocean
when war is tearing the city apart.
some whispers to your lovers in the dark
to express your inordinate desire;
or turning her into lights through
unmetere-ed simile;
you say she is the moon; she says you are
the sea
or some block verse arranged
in the middle of a blank
page to remind yourself
of the birds and their air
harmony
is it the song you sing to the gods
when they get angry in your country?
the lullabies you sing
for your sister
when strange men toy with her torso.
who is that they call a poet again?
A words economist?
