10 Minutes to Live

in #poetry7 years ago

What would you do if you had ten minutes to live?
Make amends with an estranged relative?
Admit all your sins and ask forgiveness from God?
Crank up the volume on your I-pod?
Call your best friend?
Cry while you wait for the end?
Eat your favorite food?
Tell someone else? Why ruin their mood?
Before times up, commit suicide?
On a scenic route take a short ride?
Stick a needle in your arm to get high?
Jump off a building pretending to fly?
Pull out old pictures and reminisce?
Drink one last beer and take a piss?
Call your kids to give any last advise?
Wish you could be at their wedding to throw rice?
Hold your baby tight to smell their unique scent?
Rip up this month's check for the rent?
Take a shower or fix your hair?
Remember what your Mom said and wear clean underwear?
Call someone you always wanted to cuss out?
Don't be afraid to really shout!
Make passionate love to that special one?
Without any sunscreen lay in the sun?
Make an extravagant purchase with your credit card?
How about a bronze statue for the yard?
Clean your house so people don't think that you were a slob?
Call your boss and tell him you hate your job?
Put sticky notes on your things to give away?
Think about what you did today?
Ten minutes is not much time.
Not even enough time to think of a rhyme.
What would you do if you had ten minutes to live?
