Fallen Man

I have lit candles
In many darkened naves
Listened for God’s voice
Watched for a sign
I have been in the desert
Under stars
And on a cliff
Above a lake
Listening for his voice
And hearing lonely waves
I have walked
Through autumn leaves
In a Birch wood
Stepping on the sun
Gone through blood and gold and green
In search of what I am
I’m a solitary man
I know the way of the wind
The liberties it takes
I have followed in its steps
Where criminals won’t tread
In search of Him
Finding misery instead
I am a haunted man
And have met the evil jinn
And fought with them
And made our peace
I won’t fight again
For all my sins
He takes me in
Though I am a fallen man
He understands
The way of men
And I won’t fight again
I think there are very few that ever hear the voice of the divine and many who believe they have, have not. But one (anyone) can feel the presence of the divine. So it good to listen, to quite the mind, but then feel for it. I don't know if that makes sense. But I try:):):)
The poem is superb, of course. A brilliant write:)
Thank you, Pryde. I know what you're saying. You are a spiritual person
At this point ... I have no choice:)
Ah....I understand
This poem is very great. I love your use of the first person narrative device, the arrangement of the poem and also the diction.
Although I don't know how to write poems, when I see good ones, I don't hesitate to appreciate them. Nice one!!!
Thank you - you obviously know the terminology - good comment

The sense of needing a fellowship with God and how in those moments of waiting to hear his voice and take directions the poet was feeling alone. Even though he felt alone he still knew How God loves him enough to take his sin away.
yes, thank you
