What Was I to Her?

in #poetry7 years ago (edited)

You're not irreplaceable, Darling, you're actually upgradable.
― Ahmed Mostafa

What was I to her—

a diversion

an interlude,

a play of shadow

in an empty room?

All my secrets

I confessed,

and now I live

with the regret.

She allowed a stranger

to unravel her dreams

and touch her breasts...

But to her

love's tenderness

meant nothing...

but another reason to despair.

Locked in sadness... well done, John. :)

yes,a good line ...locked in silence

Happens when only one of the two is in love! ( been there)

Often emotion is expressed more effectively when few words are used. I liked and congratulations.

yes, exactly! Less is more
