I watched you go....

I saw a dead man yesterday
Shoulders slumped under the weight of his worries
He wasn't dead then but neither was he alive.

He tried to smile
Failing miserably on every attempt
His confusion was such that would never die
And the pain in his eyes had great depth
I ignored him.

The sun woke up today
And its inelegant shine brought news
A friend was dead
Dangling from the rafters by his neck,
Beneath his feet a small note read;
"gone to find answers".
