Fellow eSTEEMed,

Love is a beautiful thing. It brings out other facets of your personality. Thinking about love, one realizes it includes friendship, sacrifices, joy and hurt sometimes. All these makes one wary at the beginning but at the end one accepts these facts and sink or probably drown in the sea of love.

If I can't write my Love a letter or serenade her under the beautiful night sky filled with glowing stars, I can write a poem devoid of poetic talents and hope it melts her heart more like fire unto a candle wax. I dedicate this to you dear. Hope you get to read it.

This girl
I like that line for a start
Maybe because I want you impressed after reading this verse
Or maybe because I want to show you I'm the man.

You said like flowers
I bought you a vase of gently picked roses
Scented with a picture of me behind at the back.

What's that colour you love?
The one we choose together?
When we was on a trip to Dafour?
Come, lets have a tête-à-têtê
I don't know why you aren't smiling
I thought I done warned
You not to do that a lot.

When you smile
Good things happens
And I want all to myself no matter what it'd cost.

When you walk, the earth gores sore.
It freezes in awe, surprised at the thought of a touch of a girl decreasing its worth!
So she stays sober
Awaiting your steps
Waiting on you to walk over.
Before she comes back to her senses.

You see?
Don't even do anything.
Just stay.
Let me paint you.
With my thoughts.
Carve you
With my words
Pray for you in my mosque.
Get you ivories and elephant tusks.
Lemme build a giant structure of you.

Sincerely, I will want that people share your existence with me.
You're just too good to be for one.
But that'll be last thing on earth ever done.
I can't word you enough,
Hafsah.
So I wrote you a song.

Thanks to all that read the first poem, Hafsah's Song I have tried to make corrections to all you advised and make it more pleasant. I hope you enjoy this one too. I can't be a poet in a day but I can try all the days of my life till I become perfect and maybe someday my poems may resurrect the dead. What a dream? 😂
