Poem: “Love Yourself First”

Love yourself first,
before asking others to love you.
Take care of your heart
as you would take care of what you fear losing most.
Don't beg for love,
love comes when you find peace,
when being alone no longer hurts
and sharing is a gift, not a necessity.
Love slowly,
where you don't have to shrink,
where your laughter is welcome
and your silence too.
And if one day love leaves,
don't let it take your essence with it,
because true love
never asks you to lose yourself in order to stay.
