Love is Like Water
I often cry when it rains, especially after a dry spell. It usually hits me when I hear all of the droplets each making their sound. It’s like energy overload.
To be witnessing how everything is being cared for. How so many needs are being met. So much life is sustained. What a gift. What love.
Anyway, I’ve always liked the analogy that love is like water so this morning I played around with word substitution for the perspective shift. Just to see how far it could go.
Here’s what I got.
About 71% of the Earth is covered in Love. We are made of love(It is the major molecular component of the human body). Even our breath is full of love(vapor).
The movement of love sustains all life on the planet(We call it the “love cycle”).
Love accepts all things.
It is the “universal solvent” able to wash away dirt and cleanse the unclean.
Love has an affinity for love. It is attracted to itself.
Love is powerful. When love floods into a confined space it can be destructive and dangerous.
We can float in love. We can drown in love.
Love is difficult to hold. The tighter you squeeze it the more it will slip through your fingers.
Love yields to things in its path, always flowing in the direction of least resistance.
It never moves to exalt itself, always downward. Yet in that meekness it carves mountains.
Love may cease to flow in freezing temperatures, but it is never destroyed. By moving into the small and lowly spaces it breaks the hardest stones.
Contending with none, love flows in low and filthy places that many scorn.
No matter how adulterated it has become it can always regain its integrity. Love is purified when it is lifted back up into the heavens to begin the love cycle again.
Harnessing the power of love can generate tremendous energy. Not just in utilizing and guiding the natural flows of love, but inside of the molecular structure of love itself.
Love is Life.
