We were once friends
We fed from the same source
We talked about the future together
We played like aimless kids
We saw life from the same direction
Indeed, we were happy our paths crossed

We grew up
We started seeing our differences
All in the name of maturity
Evil filled our minds
All in the name of exposure
Gossip and malice crept in

We went our separate ways
To make meaning out of life
We both struggled and hustled
We both made it
We were both happy

By chance, our paths crossed
We pretend not to know each other
Our little old beginning being despised
Our happy moments thrown into the gutters
We now see life in different versions
We were once friends.
