general knowledge of literature

The word literature has two sense; one is everything ‘written’ which would refer to texts produced in disciplines such as law ,the science ,spots , religion , economics , chemistry necromancy e t c however , when we talk about literature as a subject of study , we mean a creative or imaginative work of art produced by a poet , dramatist or novelist. This is the literature that concern us. Literature in this sense is generally and roughly grouped under three main genres ; prose, poetry and drama each 0f these genres has certain features that make it distinct from others and it is it is how these feature are deployed by the writer that attracts the attention of readers in their appreciation of the work.
