CAN'T YOU SEE
Can't you see
Can't you see that the fire is no longer at the fireplace
The fire is now at the top of our houses, lives and buildings
At the verge of destruction, threatening us with its hot flames with no iota of sympathy
Can't you see
Can't you see that the waters are no longer confined in the shores where the belong
The waters are now roaming to and fro our streets looking for what was not ravished by the fire.
Can't you see
Can't you see that the sun is no longer friendly
I hope am not the only one that feels the so much hatred vented out on us by the sun
Can't you see
Can't you see that the moon is scared to come out of its shadows
The moon is now like a stranger in its own land afraid to shine in the darkness surrounding it
Can't you see
Can't you see our children
Yes our very own children roaming about the streets with hunger clearly written all over them
With their thin neck trying to bear the weight of their oversized heads
Their oversized stomach peeping out of their undersized shirt.
Well written! I like it
Thank you
