Politics and Poetry: a Fusion

They seek to control you by fear and division. 

For your safety they say, as unjust laws are written.

Your body, your home, your clothes, your children

You let them define what is and what isn't.

They value life none, and war just business.

They lobby, they lie and they beguile our ignorance.

They use words that bring fear to the ears in attendance.

How can they preach safety with no concept of limits?

Wars are fought and good lives lost to sedition.

Yet another chapter in dire need of revision

When they play us like pawns and our myths turn against us

Who lives and who dies is their unfair decision

Why do we act as if there are no consequences,

As to our actions abroad, little hope for forgiveness 

And meanwhile we pillage and plunder with vengeance.

God is not proud and is a reluctant witness.

We must unite at once. As brothers and sisters. 

We share a planet after all, and our numbers are tremendous.

Our privacy. Our wealth. Our health. Is Our business

Considering  sons and daughters expendable is mental illness

If war is your solution then the problem is yours too, isn't it?

You and your kids should be among the first sent to die then.

Lives forever lost is the cost of our "freedom".
