Motherhood: A Haiku

in #poetry6 years ago (edited)

Mother, Baby, Hands, Birth, Love, Child, Children

the answer at last
curled like a question mark
across my bare chest

I wrote this haiku in the first days of motherhood, completely blissed out on my newborn and all the hormones that surge through you in the days following birth. Although my little one is no longer small enough to be considered a baby, the great joy of having crafted the set of eyes I would look into to know my purpose still rings true.

I think Four Matsuo Basho Kobayashi Issa Masaoka Shiki and Yosa Buson Their work is still the model for traditional haiku writing today We have also included examples from Natsume Soseki here a famed novelist and contemporary of Shiki who also wrote haiku

This is kind of best relationship between mom and child we cant explain it through any words. It is speechless things with great feelings.
