Poem - Let me fly

Let me fly
into the sky,
on cherished wings
with days gone by.   

Where torrents run
and dreams are spun,
as comets fly
beneath the sun.   

I'll shed a tear
that you won't hear,
while you are lost
in doubt and fear.   

But I'll be there
with tales to share.
I'm with you yet,
though please be fair.   

You can't hold on
to light that's shone.
My candle's snuffed,
your fire is strong.   

My dice are cast,
I've breathed my last.
So let me flow
into the past.
