Pierwsze wrażenia z Ammanu za dnia

Amman was the last stop on our travel itinerary. This was no coincidence, as our return flight was from an airport near Amman, and we had to drop off our car there.

Amman był ostatnim punktem na naszej podróżniczej mapie. Nie był to przypadek, ponieważ samolot powrotny mieliśmy z lotniska nieopodal Ammanu, tam też musieliśmy zdać samochód.

Amman isn't a pretty city; it's noisy, dirty, and navigating the narrow streets in a rental car is a nightmare. In Muslim countries, there are no laws; stronger and larger cars have the right of way. Fortunately, I managed to get out of there without a single scratch on my car for 10 days, but the stress was immense.

Amman nie należy do pięknych miast, jest głośny, brudny a poruszanie się wypożyczonym samochodem po wąskich uliczkach to prawdziwy koszmar. W krajach muzułmańskich nie ma prawa, silniejsze i większe auto ma pierwszeństwo. Na szczęście przez 10 dni udało mi się wyjść bez jednej rysy na samochodzie, ale stres był ogromny.

Amman offers several interesting attractions, but it's not a city for more than two days. The first attraction is the Roman Theatre, carved into the mountainside, which we viewed from above. It looked quite impressive.

Amman oferuje kilka ciekawych atrakcji, ale nie jest ta miasto na więcej niż 2 dni. Pierwszą z atrakcji jest Teatr Rzymski wyrzeźbiony w zboczu góry, który obejrzeliśmy z wysokości. Wyglądał dość imponująco.

Another attraction is the Citadel, where there are famous archaeological sites with traces of ancient civilizations and several interesting buildings.

Kolejną atrakcją jest Cytadela, gdzie znajdują się słynne wykopaliska archeologiczne ze śladami dawnych cywilizacji i kilka ciekawych budowli.

The Citadel also houses an Archaeological Museum full of interesting exhibits.

W Cytadeli znajduje się również Muzeum archeologiczne pełne ciekawych eksponatów.

An interesting and distinctive feature of Jordan's capital, Amman, is the Raghadan Flagpole, which stands 126.8 meters tall and carries a massive Jordanian flag measuring 30x60 meters. It looks incredible, especially since it is raised and lowered several times a day.

Ciekawym a zarazem charakterystycznym elementem stolicy Jordanni - miasta Amman jest maszt Raghadan (Raghadan Flagpole) który ma wysokość 126,8 metra, a na nim zawisa ogromna flaga Jordanii o wymiarach 30x60 metrów. Wygląda to niesamowicie, szczególnie, że jest ona podnoszona i opuszczana kilkanaście razy w ciągu dnia.

Amman doesn't generally have much to offer during the day, but there's always something interesting to see. Rainbow Street is a great spot. It's a popular promenade filled with murals, cafes, restaurants, shops, and lively rooftop bars.

Generalnie w ciągu dnia Amman nie ma zbyt wiele do zaoferowania, ale zawsze coś ciekawego można wypatrzeć. Fajnym miejscem jest Rainbow Street. To popularna promenada pełna murali, kawiarni, restauracji, sklepów i tętniących życiem barów na dachach.

First impressions of Amman are quite positive, but we are more interested in the nightlife in the capital, but more on that in the next post.

Pierwsze wrażenia z Ammanu są dość pozytywne, jednak nas bardziej interesuje życie nocne w stolicy, ale o tym będzie w następnym wpisie.
