"Some Observations on Cooking Cabbage" (and American Politics)

kid-1636313_1920.jpg

I bought some cabbage this afternoon.
A small head.
I cut it in half, then chopped it up.
I then got a link of sausage from the freezer, cut that in half which
then yielded 6 or 7 slices,
I then put the remainder back in the freezer.
I then placed the sausage in the bottom of my pot,
On high heat.
I let that cook (fry really) until it was thawed and showing some browning.
Then I added the chopped up cabbage (still on high heat).
I waited until I could hear it 'singing' just a bit.
Then I added about a third cup of water and quickly put on the lid.
I turned it down a little.

Then in a few minutes, I came back and I
OVERTURNED
The cabbage in the pot.

Our American Politics are much like cooking cabbage;
Things must be
overturned regularly, or
That which is on the bottom will get scorched,
and make the whole pot go bad.

Just some thoughts.
