Country Down the Drains

Sri Lanka is a gorgeous country with so much of natural beauty and wonders. However, these politicians are ruining the country right down to hell.

This corrupt bunch scams billions of money and never spend in jail or return the money. 'Rule of law' has become an absolute joke and people are fed up. Just today on the news it was telecasted that a village level minister has purchased a USD 40,000 valued chair for him to sit in the office. This is the hard earned money of the people in the country.

Taxes are over the roof. VAT is 15% and the businesses are suffering. There is an income tax, a tax on interest on savings, a tax on dividends, a tax on vehicle allowances given by offices, a tax on canteen services, and the list goes on and on. These taxes are being used for the personal benefits of the people who rule the country and this sickens people like me.

We desperately need a change in the country or need to abandon the country.
