Prime Minister quoted "People are equivalent to God in democracy and if they wish even a "chaiwalla" (tea-seller) can become their representative and greet and shake hands at the Royal Palace."
Earlier, the Indian government was centred around a powerful ruling family, but people have shown that in democracy, they can choose their own representative. Modi added, "When policy is clean, intensions are clear and noble, then the desired results can be achieved."

MODI ON CRITICISM

Responding to a question, Modi said his problems is not against criticism. "I want this government to be criticized. Criticism makes the democracy storing. Democracy cannot progress without constructive criticism. To criticize, one has to research and gather facts and argue with reason. Sadly, it does not happen now. What happens instead, is allegations."

MODI ON ASPIRATION

Giving an example, Modi says, "If a person has a bicycle, he aspires for a scooter. If a person has a scooter, he aspires for a car. It's human nature to aspire for more. India too, is getting increasingly aspirational." Its a clear result of increase in hopes and expectations.
He added, "Earlier people used to adopt the 'chalta hai' attitude." meaning that they would rather adjust their wants than aspire.

MODI ON MAHATMA GANDHI

Invoking Gandhi, Modi expressed how effective and outperforming Gandhi's ideology was. He said, "Gandhi believed no matter how small of a task one does, it ultimately contributed to freedom of India and its people." Today, the need of the hour is to make development a mass movement.

MODI ON SURGICAL STRIKE

Modi asserted that India will not tolerate those who export terror and will respond to them in 'the language they understand' referring to the 2016 surgical strike conducted across the LOC (line of control) in Kashmir occupied by Pakistan.

"Rape is rape and it should not be politicised" said Modi while adding that the Unnao and Kathua rape case were a matter of shame for India.
He added, "We always interrogate our daughters about what they are doing, where they are going and who they're talking to, but we never ask our sons the same. Even the rapist is someone's son."

MODI ON ISRAEL VISIT

For 70 years, no Indian prime minister visited Israel. What prevented them? "I will go to Israel and I will even go to Palestine. I will further cooperative with Saudi Arabia for the energy needs of India. I will engage with Iran too" referring to two middle East oil-rich power centres who are at odds with each other.

MODI ON POVERTY

"I do not need to read books to understand poverty. I have lived it. I know what it is to be poor and belong to backward section of society" said Modi while adding, "we can't just help the poor with slogans like 'gareebi hatao' (remove poverty)". Poor need to be empowered and thus can be the only way, poverty can really be removed.
