I was taken aback at the authoritarian streak that the Democrats broke out mid 2016. It was bonkers, and it crescendoed all the way through the election. There was a brief rest, perhaps a moment of mass questioning of judgement by the rank and file, and then it was back to flogging the dissidents – en masse.
