2018: the year of the great Venezuelan neglect.
As an inhabitant of this country, I easily notice the behavior of its inhabitants and how they find themselves demoralized because of the manifold troubles the country has gone through, starting with the protests against a constituent assembly that furthers almost absolute powers, declaring in this way a dictatorship and leaving a rest of 130 deaths inside the country. After this event, the Venezuelan sets him/herself out in total submission leading "la viveza criolla" (“creole smartness” in English, how they typically call their readiness to get the maximum profit at the minimum opportunity) of the country remaining as regnant entity.

Venezuelan people don't care about the bad move of its government anymore, but to survive in this chaos where the inflation consumes the salaries in a blink of an eye; without going too far, a clear example is the price of 1 kilogram of milk powder that could reach 100.000 BsF and now is estimated in 1.000.000 BsF, being the minimum wage in this country 248.510 Bsf, which is a little bit more than 2 dollars.
The Venezuelan exodus is evident in other countries, reaching the number of 2 million people -so far- seeking stability and safeness in another country, thing that I consider I should do before the first quarter of this year, not exempted of fear and some extent of paranoia.

However, the object of this article is not the statistics in red, but the clever example of how a society gets self-destroyed after big comedowns, it doesn't matter if there's an economic collapse anymore if the public services don't work properly (the electricity cuts occur almost every day, the water cuts can rotate from one day until three and in extreme cases a month, like in the past two months), exculpating themselves with absurd excuses, this as an outcome of the demagogy of a populist nation. The goal -as I said before- is not trying to look for solutions, but surviving this misery in a machiavellian way, "the end justify the means", and though the Venezuelan citizen constantly complains about the wrong management of his/her government, these complaints are always gone with the wind, it doesn't exist a real opposition in this government anymore and I'm afraid that never did and never will.

A fact that made me ponder a lot was the December 21st day (or 20th, I don't remember very well) in which the Valencia mayoralty was going to give toys in Carabobo state, it passed to be a complete chaos because of the delivery itself, I'm talking about 30.000 people running and shouting to get the toys, all this leading to a prevailing anarchy in the place where desperate mothers yelled for theirs lost kids and a big percentage of the toys were lying on the floor quite destroyed.
What other humiliations will the Venezuelan people have to endure? How big can the lobotomy made to the adepts to the government be in order to not realize the facts?
😇😇😇 Nice
