RE: Eliminating the Electoral College
I agree on the elimination of the polling stations, as well as the elections by plates or blocks that are made in my country Venezuela. People who really have not won it with social work or proposals of interest for the collision end up occupying positions of popular representation.
In the US some think socialism is the cure to all our hardships (hunger, poverty, no middle class, medical care, and so on). They completely ignore that every time socialism has been implemented it has left a country in ruins, either economic ruins or actual ruins after a war. History, and current events, could teach them some wonderful lessons if they would make the effort to understand.
In my opinion, eliminating the electoral college would put the US one step closer to becoming a socialist country.
Ok I understand then that it is convenient to keep the polling stations, it will not be that it happens as in Venezuela and other countries of Latin America, that the Socialists are thrown by the electoral route to reach the presidency and then end up becoming dictators clinging to power.
In the US, our electoral college route is intended to protect the minority. This is why the socialists in our country want to eliminate it. This exercise by the liberals (leftists) in our country is nothing but an attempted power grab. From what ever country, these people can't be satisfied with having some power and given the chance would end up a dictator based only on their need for power. Now imagine that dictator in charge of one of the most powerful militarizes on the planet. It's scary.
