Voting integrity shouldn't be that hard

Why are our elections run in such a way that the Russians (or anyone, for that matter) could hack them if they wanted to?

Every electronic voting machine should print a removable voter receipt that the voter can confirm for accuracy and then drop into a separate ballot box to be used to confirm the electronic results. We get the fast results the media desires, and the the confidence of a manual, paper process to back up the numbers.
