This may seem funny to many of you guys .
But there’s a big problem that needs to be attend to majorly in Nigeria politics. The level of corruption in Nigeria politics is now at its peak.

CAUSES OF CORRUPTION

First of all, I believe that before anything can develop and become strong enough to cause a problem, it must have a basics and root.

A number of things can cause corruption today. And among them are some that have led to the corruption in Nigeria.

• GREED
• POOR YOUTH EMPOWERMENT
• POVERTY
• UNEMPLOYMENT

Before I proceed to talk about this 4 (four) courses of corruption, that video you see above is just a piece of the iceberg compare to what is happening in our everyday life in Nigeria. You can see how everyone left their various houses just to get a voters card, some left the working place while some came from a far distance, while some are old enough to stay at home receiving pension benefits. But they chose to come over to this place to get their own voters card, not to vote for their own self but still those people who rule over them wrongly.
Now I believe you should be thinking that theirs nothing wrong with that. Yes it’s fine to get the card and vote.

Everyone here needs a voters card. But no body is ready to be cheated. You may wonder why they’re all scattered and not in a serial line or queue as you may think. The reason is because bribery as come into place in this little thing. People can be here from morning till night, hoping that it will get to their turn shortly. But at the end of the day all they could hear is we’ve closed, please come back tomorrow. A person can walk in the crowd and with familiarity conditions they will attend to them and forsake the crowd that has been Waiting. All because only one person was assigned to do the job, and still, he/she will still go about it illegally.
You can spot less employment in this card I believe.

Now you have to stand for hours in the process of getting what you want. It has become A SURVIVAL OF THE FITTEST why should this be?
These are some of the reasons why people run away from the country to other Europeans countries.
Every one wants to make money from every little thing. Everyone wants to get their gain and forget about the satisfaction of the people.

GREED

Greed has caused so many damage to the world today. Majorly in Nigeria.
It is because of greed that political leaders in Nigeria embezzle money from that in which they are suppose to use for the national development for their selfish interests.

POOR YOUTH EMPOWERMENT

Another contributor to the corruption today is the poor moral youth empowerment.
Sexual abuse by male CEO’s, internet fraud, and all other evil act we see, is because Nigerians lack understanding of the importance of youth empowerment. The level of corruption among the youth will diminish if the parents and government empower them both financially and morally.

POVERTY

Regarding to the international standard of poverty, a person is only said to be poor, when he lives below $1.25 per day (N210 though it varies)per day. The level of poverty in Nigeria is very high and therefore pushing the people to corruption.
according to World Bank group in 2004, 63.1% of Nigerians were poor.

A person can accept bribes to commit crime, to bypass the law all because he/she is poor. It is one of the major reasons why the poor youths in the country collect bribes to work as thugs for Nigerian politicians in election period.

UNEMPLOYMENT

Unemployment is one of the top major challenges in Nigeria and does not need much explanation on this, because it has broken the hearts of many citizens. People are pushed into corrupt and evil act because of high level of unemployment. An unemployed citizen can indulge in corruption to make money and live better. Even the employed ones are not being paid well.

Some people now prefer death to come and take their lives than suffering under the torment of unemployment challenge in the country. You are treated bad because you’re poor. No one wants to attend to you in the crowd because you have no money to bribe. Words cannot explain the level of punishment the citizens of this country are as a result of this menace. The youths today, fathers and mothers are seriously, with the lamenting on the negative impact and pain that the cause of unemployment has brought them into.

Corruption can only be reduced by

• Self-Satisfaction
• Institution of strong anti-corruption groups
• Employment generation
• Proper government funding of schools
• Treating all citizens equally

With my little knowledge I believe this is the little is have to say.
